Synopsis: A historical drama set in the land of Aseudal, the fictional capital of ancient Joseon. Eun Sum (Song Joong Ki) is a Han Chinese born with a blue birthmark called the star of disaster, a curse to bring disaster to Aseudal. Due to this, he goes through hardships in childhood and loses his parents. He is raised in the Han Chinese herd and has an unusual apearance, personality and ablity. After growing up, he appears again in Aseudal. Tan Ya (Kim Ji Won) is the successor of the Wahan Tribe, who was born with the same fate as Eun. After going through difficulties, she realizes her mission and decides to become a politician. Ta-Gon (Jang Dong Gun) is the war hero of Aseudal. He devoted his life to Aseudal and becomes the most powerful person in Aseudal. He dreams to become the first king of Aseudal.
